DeSoto Rifle & Pistol Club Range Information

We are a private range complex with facilities open to members 7 days a week, 365 days a year from sunrise to sunset. Members have unlimited access to the complex and may bring as many as two guests per visit (with no limit on the number of times members may bring the guests).

Our facilities, which are the largest in the state of Mississippi, feature the following:

• 200 yard general purpose range with target positions at 25, 50, 75, 100, 150 and 200 yard distances and up to 25 firing points. This range is always open to members during operating hours.
• 3 pistol bays are used three Saturdays a month for competitive events but otherwise are open to the general membership (check the Calendar for the dates and times of these matches). Two bays are approximately 25 yards wide by 25 yards deep while the other is approximately 25 yards wide by 50 yards deep.  Rimfire rifles and .223 (and smaller) centerfire rifles are welcome on the pistol bays.  Shotguns with birdshot and clays laid against the back berm are also welcome in the pistol bays.
• 600 yard long distance rifle range is designed to accommodate NRA-sanctioned rifle matches. It has 12 fixed target positions and can be expanded to 25. There are raised firing lines at 200, 300 and 600 yards. Two new firing positions at 1,000 yards will be added in the near future. We are proud to host NRA Highpower and Mid-range prone matches on this range.
• 10 station sporting clays facility spread over 20 acres of land, open to the public (usage at an additional fee and not included in range membership).
• A Range Safety Officer is on duty Saturdays, Sundays and major weekday holidays to assure safe shooting for everyone as well as to answer questions about our facilities.

We offer a variety of training and matches, including:

• Mississippi Enhanced Carry permit
• AR-15 clinics
• Appleseed clinics
• NRA Highpower and Mid-range prone rifle
• Vintage service rifle (M1, Mosin, etc.)

We have development plans in place to grow and expand our range complex and its amenities so that our members will have the finest shooting facility possible to exercise their Constitutional rights.

General driving directions:

• From I-55 take the Como HWY 310 exit (257) and head East about 200 yards to Freeman Road (this is the first road east of the interstate and there is a convenience store / gas station on the NW corner).
• Turn left (North) and go approximately 2.0 miles to the first stop sign.  This is Compress Road.
• Turn right (East) and go approximately 0.5 miles and look for the entrance on the left.

The speed limit on the range is 15 MPH.
